Plan On Purpose – Unlocking Your Retirement Potential

Hey folks, I’m Dana Dunkelberger, founder of Reliance Financial Partners. Today we’re going to talk about our Reliance Plan on Purpose and show you how to unlock the potential in your retirement savings.

We’re going to start with investments. Most folks come to us with an investment portfolio of some sort, maybe their IRAs, 401(k)s, things of that nature. That’s going to be the landing place for your retirement savings. In most cases, you’re going to have investments, and you’ll pay a fee, typically somewhere in the range of one and a half to two and a half percent. We feel the foundation of any financial plan is going to be an income plan or income strategy. You want to maintain your lifestyle and enjoy your retirement, so we want to have an income plan together to do that.

When we make money in this country, we also have to pay taxes, so we want a tax plan in place to reduce those taxes. At the end of the day, folks, it’s not necessarily how much money you make; it’s how much money you get to keep and enjoy. We hear from clients all the time who are concerned about their health moving forward and what that looks like. So we want a health care plan in place. That doesn’t always mean buying more insurance. Sometimes folks have a long-term care policy or life insurance in place. But really, the most important piece is laying out the plan for what money you’re going to use to take care of those unexpected expenses if you have a health care emergency.

Last but not least, is your estate or legacy plan. We tell clients this all the time: don’t let your money die with you. We want to have a plan in place so you can transition money to your loved ones without any major problems. Often, new clients come to us with investments thinking they have a plan, but really what they have is just a portfolio disguised as a plan. You’re probably wondering at this point, how do I put my plan on purpose together? Come see us at the office, and we’ll help facilitate that for you. We look forward to seeing you soon and putting an entire plan on purpose together. Have a great day.
